Giving a major boost to advanced healthcare in Maharashtra, a state-of-the-art Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) machine has been launched at the government-run Sir JJ Hospital in Mumbai. This technology will enable more accurate diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases related to blood vessels and brain without major surgery.
The facility was inaugurated by the hospital's Dean Dr. Ajay Bhandarwar. According to the hospital administration, this machine will be of great help in the treatment of stroke, brain aneurysm, blood vessel disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, serious injuries in accidents and some types of cancer.
The DSA machine creates a very clear image of blood vessels. This allows doctors to accurately identify problems in the blood vessels and treat them immediately.
Head of the Department of Interventional Radiology Dr. Avinash Gutte said that this technology allows treatment to be done through a very small hole instead of a large incision. This reduces the risk of surgery.
Dean Dr. Bhandarwar said that many complex diseases that previously required major surgery can now be treated with less pain, fewer complications, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.
The hospital administration said that the new DSA facility will enhance the efficiency of emergency services, trauma care, neurovascular, oncology and vascular treatments.
