Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has announced a 12-hour water supply shutdown in several parts of Kalyan and Dombivli on June 2. According to information released by the civic body, the suspension will remain in effect from 8 am to 8 pm.

In its official statement, KDMC said that the monsoon may arrive late this year due to the effects of El Nino and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD). Therefore, instructions have been given to plan drinking water by August 31 in the 2026 budget session.

Against this backdrop, a meeting was held with the Water Resources Department on May 14. In it, all the municipal corporations, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and other related agencies decided to control water consumption.

The water supply from KDMC's Barave, Mohili, Netivali and Titwala water treatment plants will be shut down.

Appeal to citizens
