The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has recently announced the implementation of a new initiative called Janata Darbar. This initiative aims to address citizens' concerns at the ward level and promote transparency in administrative work. A report published in the Free Press Journal mentioned that the announcement of the Janata Darbar was made by KDMC commissioner Dr. Bhausaheb Dangade on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Janata Darbar to be Held Every Monday

As part of the Janata Darbar, a weekly session will take place every Monday from 3 pm to 5 pm. This dedicated time will allow citizens to bring forward their concerns and grievances, ensuring their voices are heard. By designating a specific day and time for this purpose, the KDMC aims to streamline the handling of various complaints within their jurisdiction.

Ward-Level Implementation and Supervision

To effectively manage the Janata Darbar, KDMC officials have decided to conduct these sessions at the central ward office. The implementation and supervision of the Janata Darbar will be carried out under the guidance of circle one and two deputy commissioners. This decision will not only facilitate a more organized approach to addressing citizens' concerns but will also relieve the burden on the commissioner's office, which previously handled all complaints directly.

Resolving Civic Issues at the Ward Level

Dr. Bhausaheb Dangade, the KDMC commissioner, emphasized the significance of addressing citizens' concerns at the ward level. Recognizing that it is not feasible to address all complaints on a daily basis, Dr. Dangade highlighted the frequent visits of citizens to the KDMC headquarters in search of resolution. To provide a more accessible platform, the Janata Darbar will be implemented, allowing citizens to have their queries and issues addressed in their respective wards.

Deputy Commissioners to Oversee Janata Darbar

Deputy Commissioner Darsheel Jadhav will oversee the Janata Darbar sessions at the KDMC headquarters in Kalyan. Additionally, Swati Deshpande will be in charge of the divisional office in Dombivali. With their guidance and supervision, the Janata Darbar aims to cater to citizens residing in different areas of the KDMC, eliminating the need for them to travel to the main headquarters for grievance redressal.

Addressing Civic Problems and Employee Service Matters

During the Janata Darbar sessions, all civic problems and employee service matters will be addressed. Attendance is mandatory for assistant commissioners, technical officers, and KDMC employees. This comprehensive approach ensures that citizen concerns are heard, and appropriate actions are taken to resolve them. The divisional deputy commissioner has been entrusted with the responsibility of addressing citizen complaints within a stipulated time frame of 15 days.

Promoting Awareness of Welfare Schemes

The Janata Darbar will not only serve as a platform for addressing grievances but also as an avenue for sharing information about various welfare schemes provided by the KDMC and government. This will enable citizens to stay informed and take advantage of the available schemes aimed at improving their well-being and quality of life.
