Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked officials to prepare a new policy to provide jobs for persons with disabilities on Monday, April 7. He also directed them to launch a scheme similar to the Ladki Bahin Yojana for disabled citizens.
A housing plan called the Gharkul Scheme will also be introduced. Under this scheme, the state will give land to disabled people who do not own property. This will help them build homes.
As per reports, the Chief Minister said that some people are born with disabilities, while others face challenges due to accidents or illness. He added that they must overcome difficulties and succeed in life. He asked officials to create new policies to help them live better lives. He also gave instructions on how to implement these plans properly.
Fadnavis was speaking during a review meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House. He discussed various issues faced by disabled citizens. He said a "district divyang bhavan" will be set up in every district. This centre will provide all services for disabled people in one place.
He also said that financial help will be given under the Special Assistance Scheme. This help will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer. This system will work like the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana.
