In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to give a grant of INR 10 lakh to Asha volunteers, Anganwadi workers on accidental death and INR 5 lakh on disability. The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
For this purpose, an amount of about 1 crore 5 lakh rupees was sanctioned every year. This decision will come into effect from April 1, 2024. At present, 75, 578 such volunteers and 3622 group promoters are working and performing important health related responsibilities. While doing so, the decision was taken to provide them financial assistance in the event of sudden death or disability.
