On the intervening night of Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18, Mumbai suburban guardian minister, Aaditya Thackeray went on a night inspection of Mumbai, commencing from the western suburbs. He did so to see to it that works are promptly completed. These include roadworks, nullah cleaning as well as pre-monsoon works.

Thackeray claims that going on night rounds of the city to check on the development works has been his habit for nearly a decade.

The state environment and tourism minister took to Twitter to say, "While on these visits, conversing with residents is always heartening, like today in DN Nagar was. Always a pleasure to catch up and get on ground citizen feedback with surprise visits."

It has been reported that the areas inspected by him include the likes of Mangalwadi Road near SNDT College, Juhu Tara Road, and Gautam Lane Four Bungalow. In addition to this, he also took a look at Andheri Lokhandwala Shooting Bridge, R. T. O Road No. 2. From checking the MHADA desilting work in Andheri, he also did so at Parle West's Sanyas Ashram Road.

On the other hand, accounts suggest that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has desilted only 39 per cent of the nullahs targeted for pre-monsoon clean-up in the city.
