On Tuesday, November 9, there was a slight nip in the air as the minimum temperature recorded by the India Meteorological Departement (IMD) Santacruz observatory dropped to 20.2 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature of Tuesday was 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal. Just a day ago, the minimum temperature recorded by the IMD Santacruz observatory was 23.4 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it was evident that there would be a drop in the city's minimum temperature.

On the other hand, the IMD Colaba observatory recorded minimum temperatures of 23.5 degrees Celcius. It was 0.3 degrees Celsius, below normal. IMD said that the reason for the dip in temperature is due to the north easterly winds, which are prevailing at the lower level over the region.

On Sunday, November 7, the maximum temperature in the city was below normal since Mumbai received light rain and thundershowers.

Last year in November, the lowest minimum temperature recorded was 19.2 degrees Celsius which was on November 10. The lowest ever temperature recorded in November was on November 19, 1950, which was 13.3 degrees Celcius.

Meanwhile, in the last one decade, the lowest minimum temperature recorded has been 14.6 degrees Celcius in November 2012.
