This will help with better commuting and smoother daily travel between South Mumbai and the suburbs. Once operational, the third phase will add 11 more stations.
As per reports, the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) carried out the preliminary inspection of the final phase of the corridor between Worli and Cuffe Parade station.
The inspection report would be submitted next week. Following this, the CMRS is expected to return for a final safety review of the 10.99-km pending stretch, authorities stated.
With this, the entire 33.5 km Colaba-Aarey line could be open for the public by the end of September or early October if all the approvals are granted, the FPJ reported.
