Commuters travelling on Mumbai Metro One’s Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor can now purchase and manage their metro passes directly through WhatsApp. The new DG-Pass digital ticketing facility allows passengers to buy multi-trip and stored-value passes without carrying a physical metro pass or visiting a ticket counter.

The initiative, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure, is designed to make daily metro travel more convenient while reducing queues and dependence on physical tickets and cards. Passes can also be added to Google Wallet and Apple Wallet, allowing commuters to keep their travel credentials on their smartphones.

Two Digital Metro Pass Options Available

Mumbai Metro One’s DG-Pass offers two types of digital passes to suit different travel needs:

1. Trip Pass

The Trip Pass allows commuters to purchase a fixed number of metro journeys in advance. The prepaid trips remain available until they are used, making the option convenient for passengers who travel regularly on the corridor.

2. Store Value Pass

The Store Value Pass works like a prepaid travel balance. Commuters can load an amount of their choice, after which the applicable metro fare is automatically deducted for each journey. The balance can be recharged digitally whenever required.

Both options are available digitally and can be stored in Google Wallet or Apple Wallet for easier access during daily travel.

How to Buy Mumbai Metro One Digital Pass on WhatsApp

Passengers can purchase the DG-Pass through Mumbai Metro One’s existing WhatsApp ticketing service in just a few steps:

  1. Send “Hi” to Mumbai Metro One on WhatsApp at +91 9670008889.
  2. Tap “Book Now” to access the ticketing service.
  3. Select “Digital Pass”, choose either the Trip Pass or Store Value Pass, and complete the payment.

Payments can be made using UPI, debit cards or credit cards. Once the transaction is completed, the digital pass is issued electronically.

The service does not require commuters to download another app, register for a new account or visit a ticket counter.

Digital Pass Builds on WhatsApp Ticketing Service

The DG-Pass facility expands Mumbai Metro One’s existing WhatsApp-based ticketing system, which was introduced in November 2022. The earlier service enabled passengers to purchase single-journey QR tickets through WhatsApp.

With the launch of digital passes, the operator has extended the platform to cover frequent and regular travel. Commuters who make a predictable number of journeys can opt for the Trip Pass, while those with changing travel patterns can use the Store Value Pass.

Mumbai Metro One has also introduced mobile QR ticketing and integrated ticketing through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as part of its broader push towards digital and technology-enabled public transport.

Mumbai Metro One Expands Digital Travel Options

The Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor has been operated by Mumbai Metro One since 2014. The operator completed 12 years of service in June 2026 and said the Metro has carried more than 125 crore passengers since its launch.

The company said the new digital pass is aimed at giving commuters greater flexibility while making the ticketing process faster and more convenient. By shifting pass management to smartphones, Mumbai Metro One expects to reduce repeated ticket purchases, physical ticket usage and queues at stations.

The DG-Pass launch marks another step in Mumbai Metro One’s efforts to make everyday Metro travel more digital, cashless and convenient for commuters.
