According to reports, on Sunday, January 31, four people were killed while several others sustained injuries in a road accident on the Mumbai Nashik Highway in Maharashtra.

The preliminary information revealed that the car hit a road divider and collided with a bus at around 11.30 pm on Sunday. Moreover, the accident took place near Pimplas village under Kongaon police station limits of Bhiwandi division when the car was on its way to Mumbai from Nashik.

Meanwhile, the locals along with the Bhiwandi police control room have stated that the car driver reportedly lost control over the car resulting in the collision due to which the vehicle hit a road divider and then jumped over to the opposite lane where it collided head-on with a private bus, which was heading from Mumbai to Shirdi.

On the other hand, four out of the six-car occupants died on the spot. Moreover, they have been identified as Gokul Gavte (29), Pankaj Jawle (29), car driver Jwala VB Singh (27) and Gaurav Sudhir Singh (27) by the officials.

As per sources, the Kongaon police have registered a case under various Indian Penal Code Sections which includes 304-A (causing death by negligence), and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
