According to the latest reports, the Mumbai Police has curated a novel approach to deal with housing society concerned problems in the city. They have done so by appointing inspector-rank nodal officers to deal with the said issues.

Based on accounts, an announcement regarding the same was made on Sunday, May 15, by the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Sanjay Pandey during a Facebook live session. It has been reported that in the 30-minute video, which can be seen on Pandey's Facebook page, he elaborated on how there are considerable complaints from housing societies that have not been handled adequately.

Narratives suggest that police inspectors in charge of public relations in the nearly 90 police stations in Mumbai have been made the nodal officers for housing societies that fall under their respective police station's jurisdiction.

In addition to this, Pandey is believed to have also elucidated that soon they could curate a citizen forum that would enable effective communication amongst the many bodies that include the likes of the police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), citizens and other governmental departments.

The Mumbai Police Commissioner was quoted in reports elaborating on how the citizen's forum will be made at the regional and zonal levels. With 60 people from the zonal level and 15 people from the regional level. These individuals will represent the citizens.

He reportedly added that a bill is also being made to list the citizen forum's responsibility and depict the ways through which government departments could solve issues raised by the forum. According to Pandey, the bill is being made by citizens which will then be submitted to the government which will decide the further course of action.
