Dharavikars are protesting for many demands such as rehabilitating eligible and ineligible residents in Dharavi, giving 500 square feet houses to Dharavikars and not giving this project to Adani group.


Dharavi will be redeveloped by Adani Group. Under that, the ineligible residents of Dharavi will be given houses in Mulund or Wadala. Dharavikars are demanding 500 square feet houses while eligible residents will be given 350 square feet houses. Dharavikars are opposed to all these things. There are many demands of the Dharavikars that the Dharavikars should be resettled, the eligible and ineligible residents should be resettled in Dharavi, the Dharavikars should be given a house of 500 square feet and the project should not be given to the Adani group. However, Dharavi residents are alleging that the Dharavi redevelopment project is being taken forward ignoring these demands.

Against this backdrop, Dharavikars have organised a public meeting on March 1 to express their anger and convey their opposition to the Adani Group to the state government. The Shetkari Kamgar Party will hold a public meeting on March 1 at 5 pm near Pearl Residency on Sion-Mahim Link Road in Dharavi. Dharavikars will not go anywhere else except Dharavi. It will be decided in this meeting that BKC will not be allowed in Dharavi.
