The shoddy repair work carried out on St. Andrew’s Road in Bandra was brought to Municipal Chief Ajoy Mehta's attention, who then directed his officials to terminate the civil contractor’s services as well another contract of filling the potholes in Zone III.

Mehta also sought the status of all the work carried out by the contractor and was informed about complaints about his other work as well. The municipal administration withdrew the proposal in a standing committee meeting on Monday.

Film actor, director and producer Farhan Akhtar had expressed disappointment over the corporation administration on Twitter for the botched up road repair work on St. Andrew’s Road as well as Mehabut Chowk in Bandra West. This tweet moved the local corporator of the area, Asif Zakaria, who vocalised the issue in the meeting of the standing committee. Chief Road Engineer gave an assurance to the Standing Committee that the required action will be taken after a thorough inspection of the area.

Messers Mandeep Enterprises was appointed for the contract to carry out pre-monsoon road maintenance work in several parts of the H / West and K / West division in Zone III. The company, however, did not undertake the task well. Additional commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee said that the company has been issued a notice.
