The Mumbai (Central) Regional Transport Office (RTO) will introduce the new 'MH01FL' registration series for private two-wheelers from August 10, as the existing 'MH01FK' series is nearing exhaustion.

Vehicle owners who wish to secure a preferred or 'fancy' registration number must submit their applications by 12:00 PM on August 10, according to the RTO.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with the required fee at Counter E-11 of the Mumbai Central RTO.

The facility to reserve a preferred registration number is available on payment of the fees specified under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

If more than one application is received for the same registration number, the RTO will conduct an auction at 2:00 PM on August 10 to determine the successful applicant.

Documents Required

Applicants must attach the following documents with their application:

  • Photo identity proof
  • Address proof
  • PAN card
  • Vehicle purchase receipt

Validity of the Reserved Number

A reserved registration number will remain valid for 180 days from the date of allotment.

The vehicle must be registered within this period. The reserved number will be activated once the reservation is recorded in the VAHAN-04 system during the vehicle registration process.

Application Forms and Assistance

The Mumbai Central RTO has informed that application forms are available at Counter E-11. Dedicated staff have been deployed at the counter to assist applicants with the reservation process.
