In a tragic incident, two siblings who resides in Mumbai's Dombivli area lost their lives while attempting to save their pet dog.

Dr. Ranjith Ravindran, a 23-year-old house surgeon, and his younger sister, Kirti Ravindran, aged 17, drowned in a pond located in Davdi, Dombivli East. According to reports, they are originally from Haripad, Kerala but were temporarily based out in Mumbai for quite some time. 

The victims' parents, Ravindran and Deepa, reside in the Saicharan Building, Umesh Nagar, Dombivli West. However, during the incident, the parents were away in Kerala, receiving medical treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the siblings had taken their pet dog for a bath in the pond. The dog accidentally went to the deeper section of the pond. Ranjith followed it into the water but soon found himself struggling to stay afloat. Witnessing her brother in distress, Kirti also tried to rescue him. Both the siblings ultimately drowned in the pond. 

Upon receiving the distress call, the fire department arrived at the scene. They conducted an extensive search, eventually locating and recovering the bodies of Ranjith and Kirti from the water. The bodies of the deceased will undergo autopsies as part of the standard procedure before being transported to their hometown in Kerala.
