A teacher from Howard English School in Nallasopara has been accused of spraying a glass cleaner, Colin, on the private parts of an 8-year-old boy. The incident took place on July 23 after the child reportedly complained about a bad smell in the classroom.

When the child informed his parents, they immediately filed a complaint and demanded an apology from the teacher. The incident led to public outrage. Parents and local residents protested outside the school.

In response, the State Education Department launched an investigation. It revealed that the school had committed serious violations. One major finding was that the school had been issuing Leaving Certificates from another school in Aurangabad. This raised concerns about the institution’s registration and legal status.

After reviewing the case, the Palghar Zilla Parishad ordered a Taluka-level inquiry. Based on the findings, officials issued a notice for the school’s immediate closure. The Deputy Education Officer of Palghar District Secondary confirmed the shutdown order.

Authorities also warned that if the school continues to operate, a formal police complaint will be filed against it. A meeting between parents and education department officials is scheduled for July 31 at Mantralaya to discuss further steps.
