The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to open over 60 HBT clinics in the city by the end of this year.

This development comes following the success of the such 166 clinics and 28 polyclinics in mumbai currently, which were introduced under the HBT clinic scheme.

Moreover, the BMC and Mumbai suburban guardian minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha on Monday, October 16, released a jingle dedicatedly for the medical centres on the occasion of the HBT clinic’s first anniversary. It is named after Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

There are a total of 194 such clinics; however, BMC officials have decided to increase the clinics to 250 by year end. This month, seven new clinics will start. The civic body will also appoint new doctors and other staff for new clinics.

Lodha further stated that they have decided to keep a suggestion box in the HBT clinics to provide health care services that are always improving. People can submit their suggestions to help us improve our services.

Additional municipal commissioner Dr Sudhakar Shinde said the diagnosis centres provide special services like gynaecology, dental, child care, dermatology, etc. About 23 lakh citizens have been treated in HBT clinics.

BMC health officer also mentioned that they are trying to get land to start new clinics to provide doorstep health care.
