The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started the work of adding an additional 4,000 mm diameter water channel to the water treatment plant at Bhandup Complex. Due to which water supply has been affected in many areas of Mumbai on January 30 and 31, respectively.

The BMC had said that water will be supplied on January 31 at 10:00 am. However, now the civic body says that instead of 10:00 in the morning, water will be supplied at 6:00 in the evening. The technical repair work will take an additional 8 hours.

The areas include Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Jogeshwari, Andheri, Vileparle, Juhu, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar, Bandra, Khar, Santacruz. In the Dharavi area, where water is supplied from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the situation will remain the same on January 30.

Mahim, Dadar, Prabhadevi and Matunga areas will get 25 percent less water on January 30 and 31, the official said.

These areas of Mumbai there will be no water supply.
