The city of dreams, Mumbai is home to millions of people who never let the city sleep. Mumbai has a diverse nightlife and is always buzzing with people regardless of day or night. However, a recent study has focused on another virtue of Mumbaikars. The survey, which was conducted in 77 cities revealed that Mumbaikars are the most hard-working people and work for the more hours than any other cites’ people.

The survey by Swiss Investment Bank, UBS further disclosed that Mumbaikars work for almost 3314.7 hours annually that translates to 12.8 hours a day if one assumes a five-day work week and 10.6 hours a day if it is a six-day work week.

Mumbaikars worked double as compared to the hours of work of European cities, Rome and Paris where the people worked for 1581 hours and 1662 hours respectively. However, Mumbai still lacks the proper payment of wages for work. In terms of hourly wages for work, Geneva, Zurich, and Luxembourg led the list whereas Mumbai listed as low as second last i.e. 76th, on the list.

UBS conducted the survey on the basis of 15 professions. As per the survey, Zurich is the most expensive city to live in and Luxembourg tops for purchasing power.
