Navi Mumbai: Sanpada Police Station Opens with State-of-the-Art Infrastructure and Cy-Fi Unit

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the new Sanpada Police Station in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, September 25. The four-storey building, developed by the Maharashtra Housing Cooperative Society, has around 40 rooms, special conference areas, and secure document storage. Solar panels have been installed to promote renewable energy use.

During the opening event, three other Navi Mumbai police stations also received ISO certification. They are Vashi, CBD Belapur, and Panvel Taluka. The Chief Minister presented certificates to Senior Police Inspectors Shashikant Chandekar, Arun Pawar, and Gajanan Ghadge for their respective stations. This recognises the following of internal cyber security and document protection standards.

Vashi Police Station has been recognised for its professionalism and efficient handling of complaints, especially those involving women. The police force is using modern techniques to prevent crime and make sure of quick capture of offenders. 

The minister also inaugurated a dedicated Cyber and Financial Crimes (Cy-Fi) investigation unit and the e-Samvad online communication service to the public. The Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate is the first in the state to host a cutting-edge facility at the police station level. The Cy-Fi unit focuses on financial fraud and cybercrime, while e-Samvad allows people to communicate with the police without visiting in person.
