The Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner and Chairman of City Disaster Management Committee Rajesh Narvekar held a special meeting and instructed everyone to maintain mutual coordination and act carefully so that the citizens do not face any kind of trouble in case of calamity. Accordingly, all the authorities have done pre-monsoon work and established their respective vigilance teams.


As per the instructions of NMMC Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar, all the eight department offices as well as 5 fire stations have been made operational from June 1. These control rooms will provide immediate relief during calamities and all these rooms will be operational 24x7 till September 30, 2023. If the monsoon period increases, these rooms will continue to function accordingly. Officers and employees have been appointed here and necessary manpower and materials have been provided for the relief work.


Apart from this, the Regional Disaster Prevention Center and Immediate Action Center at the municipal headquarters which are working 24 hours a day 365 days of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be functioning more effectively and citizens can also call there and report their problems in the event of a disaster. From there, the problems will be resolved by giving prompt instructions to the concerned. Immediate Action Center has telephone numbers 022-27567060, 27567061 and 2 toll free numbers 1800222309 and 1800222310 operational and citizens can contact any of these numbers.

Similarly, disaster control rooms have been set up in all the five fire stations and CBD Fire Station 022- 27572111, Nerul Fire Station 022-27707101, Vashi Central Fire Station 022-27894800 and 27895900, Koparkhairane Fire Station 022-27541101 and 022- 27792400, 27795200 at Airoli Fire Station contact numbers are available to provide prompt service to citizens.
