The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) inaugurated three primary health centers on the Independence Day, August 15. These centers have been started in Kamothe, Khanda Colony and Kalamboli village.

As per general requirement, there should be one public health center for every 50,000 individual. Thus, PMC has been approved for 15 health centers to serve the population. Of these, nine health centers have already been set up and have received overwhelmingly positive response.

The new health centers were unveiled in the presence of Panvel MLA Prashant Thakur, who promised better health care through these primary health centres.

PMC official Ganesh Deshmukh emphasized that important funds in this year's budget have been given for health services. PMC has successfully established nine Civilian Primary Health Centers and sub-centres earlier this year. Now the addition of three more centers has taken this initiative further.

These newly established primary health centers provide health advice, primary health care, emergency care, treatment of communicable and non-communicable diseases, hypertension and diabetes screening, fever, antenatal and newborn care, routine immunizations including covid vaccination, counseling services and free diagnostic laboratory tests. etc. will provide health services. Apart from this, medication services will be provided.

Moreover, a special outpatient department (OPD) catering to senior citizens aged 60 and above will be available every day from 2 pm to 4 pm at the health centre.
