A leakage has been detected in the water pipeline managed by the STEM authority, which supplies water to Thane. Repair work is currently underway, and it is expected to take some time to completely stop the leakage. As a result, water will be supplied at low pressure across the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) area on Friday, April 18, 2025, and Saturday, April 19, 2025.

The leakage was reported around 12:30 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025. STEM officials have promptly initiated repair work, and water supply through the affected pipeline has been temporarily suspended to facilitate these repairs.

According to Vinod Pawar, Deputy City Engineer (Water Supply), Thane Municipal Corporation, once the repairs are completed, it will take additional time for the water supply to normalize. Until then, areas such as Mumbra Retibunder, parts of Kalwa, Kharegaon, Saket, Rabodi, Uthalsar, Khopat, Ghodbunder Road, Gandhinagar, Pokhran Road No. 1 and 2, Indiranagar, Charai, Siddheshwar, Bhaskar Colony, and Ghantali will experience low water pressure.
