The Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is reportedly seeing a lot of enthusiasm amongst people. The Thane district collectorate has reported receiving 5,47,870 applications as of August 6. 

After thorough screening, 4,76,258 applications were approved in Thane district. Officials stated that 875 applications were cancelled, and 70,045 are still pending due to errors.

In Thane district, Murbad taluka had the highest approval rate, approving 37,886 out of 38,308 applications, a 98.90% rate. Only 22 applications were cancelled in Murbad.

Further, Thane taluka reviewed 1,87,900 applications and approved 1,62,022, achieving an approval rate of 86.23%. This included over 72,000 applications from the Mira-Bhayandar area. Only 245 were cancelled in Thane taluka.

Other talukas of Thane district also provided data, with Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, Bhiwandi, Shahpur, and Ambernath achieving approval rates of 75.77%, 85.22%, 83.38%, 85.40%, and 91.99%, respectively.

The Mahayuti government had announced the scheme to provide a monthly stipend of INR 1,500 to impoverished women in the state who are aged 21 to 65. The program began on July 1, and applications are accepted until August 31, both online and offline.

The district administration, led by collector Ashok Shingare, has focused on enrolling as many eligible beneficiaries as possible. Shingare has personally overseen the enrolment process, mobilising the district apparatus, including corporations, municipal councils, and panchayat samiti. Special attention was given to enrolling women from rural and tribal areas.
