Pilgrims who are planning to visit Haj will have to pay extra ₹19,000 as the Saudi authorities have increased charges for the services that are provided to the pilgrims.  

Haj Committee CEO, M A Khan informed that the there is no increase in service charge by the Haj Committee, but it is Saudi authorities who have increased various charges which includes transportation (bus fare), metro train fare, bed charges in the tent city of Mina, increase in adahi or qurbani coupons. The cost has also gone up due to the fluctuating rate of Riyal to INR.

This year, of the 1.6 lakh pilgrims who will be flying from India, 1.3 lakh will go through the Haj Committee and 47,023 via private tour operators. Haj will be performed in the month of August.

In Mecca, pilgrims are accommodated in two categories, green (near the mosque) and azizya (a few km away). Pilgrims opting for green will have to pay extra ₹19,000 and those who will choose azizya will have to pay extra ₹15,000 depending on embarkation points.
