Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on January 15. During this visit, the Prime Minister will attend various events. During this visit, the Prime Minister will attend various events including the inauguration of the three warships of the Navy which will be done by himself. Also, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate an ISKCON temple in Navi Mumbai.


On January 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the naval warships INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Vaghshir at the Naval Dock in Mumbai at around 10:30 am. He will then inaugurate the ISKCON temple at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai at around 3.30 pm.


What is special about the three warships?

Commissioning three major naval combat ships will be a giant leap forward in India's vision of global leadership in defense manufacturing and maritime security. INS Surat, P15B is the fourth and flagship of the guided missile destroyer project and is one of the largest and most sophisticated destroyers in the world. 75 percent of this material is indigenous and is equipped with sophisticated weapons-sensor packages and advanced network-centric capabilities. 

INS Nilgiri, the first ship of the P17A stealth frigate type, developed by the Warship Design Department of the Indian Navy, has excellent survivability and incorporates advanced features for maritime security (seakeeping) and stealth which reflect the modern type of indigenous frigates. INS Waghsheer, the sixth and final variant of the P75 Scorpene project, represents India's growing expertise in submarine construction. It has been built in collaboration with the French Navy Group.

ISKCON temple will also be inaugurated

PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the ISKCON project at Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Mandir, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai during this visit. The project, spread over nine acres, includes temples of several deities, a center for Vedic education, a proposed museum, an auditorium, and a healing center. The aim of Vedic Education Center is to promote universal brotherhood, peace and harmony.
