A portion of the ceiling structure came crashing down at Raghuleela Mall in Vashi on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported in the scene.
The ceiling plaster ended up on the third level of the mall, while the metal reinforcement came down till the ground floor. The mall building has been shut by the management until the repairing work is over.
According to the Vashi police, the ceiling plaster had probably dampened due to the rains after which it might have loosened and came down crashing. However, the real cause of the roof collapse is yet to be ascertained.
