These 60 Post Offices Across Mumbai To Remain Open For 12 Hours

According to a latest development, 60 post offices across Mumbai will function four hours more than their normal working hours from today, October 10.

This decision was announced on Sunday, October 9, which also happened to be the World Post Day. Issuing an official statement, the India Post Mumbai region said, “On the occasion of World Post Day 2022, we have launched 12-hours services in 60 Mumbai city and suburbs post offices, i.e from 8 am to 8 pm.”

It also stated that this service will continue on a permanent basis to make post office services more accessible to Mumbaikars who face difficulties in fulfilling their postal needs after their job and senior citizens whose visits depend upon the adult members in the house.

“In future, we have a greater bag of initiatives as we are working to make more post offices extend their working hours,” the statement further added.

For those unversed, earlier, the post office services were functional for eight hours depending on the locality. There are a total of 229 post offices in the city and the timings of financial transactions depending upon the number of customers and demand for services were mostly 8 am to 4 pm.
