While speaking in Lok Sabha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gopal Shetty raised the problem of heavy traffic in metropolitan cities like Mumbai and requested for a solution regarding the same as early as possible.
Shetty, who is an MP from Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency, raised the issue of rising traffic in major cities after media reports stated earlier that Mumbai witnesses the highest traffic across the world.
If there is a war in metropolitan cities in the future, it will be because of the increasing traffic problem. If you look at the development plan, the road map shown in the plan differs from reality. The length and width of the roads constructed is shorter. We will have to be aware of the growing problems of traffic in the coming time,” said BJP MP Gopal Shetty.
I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to find solutions regarding the traffic problem in Mumbai as it is the financial capital of the country and is an attraction centre,” Shetty added.

According to a report carried out by TomTom, it takes 65 per cent more time to travel during peak hours in Mumbai which has the worst traffic flow across the world.
