Mumbai Local News: Raosaheb Danve, MoS for Railways, travels in second class from CSMT to Dadar

The Minister of State for Railways also visited the site of CSMT station redevelopment site at platform no.18 (east entry) to have detailed information about the project.

Raosaheb Patil Danve, Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines, travelled in a suburban train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Dadar interacting with passengers.  

 At Dadar, Raosaheb Patil also witnessed the departure of a special train (Full Tariff Rate special) from Dadar to Sawantwadi Road. He also travelled to Matunga by train and felicitated the women staff of Matunga railway station which has appeared in Limca Book of Records for being the first railway station with all women railway staff and interacted with the railway staff. Moreover, he enquired about the challenges faced by them and how they have overcome those challenges with grit and determination.

Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager of Central Railway, Shalabh Goel, Divisional Railway Manager along with other officials accompanied the minister during the inspection and interaction.

Earlier, the minister was given a special guard by the RPF contingent at the heritage building of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Mayor Kishori Pednekar had on February 17, travelled in a local train to spread awareness about the use of face masks among citizens in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in the city.

According to a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official, before boarding the train at Byculla station on the Central Railway route, Pednekar took a look around the station and asked a number of people moving around without masks to wear face coverings.
