COVID-19 Recovery rate in Maharashtra at 88.08 per cent; fatality rate at 2.63 per cent

The state government has finally observed a reduction in the number of COVID19 cases across Maharashtra. Officials have tested a total 86,08,928 samples so far, out of which 16,45,020 tested positive.

Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra have reduced over the last few days, and the officials at the state government have been breathing a sigh of relief finally, as the numbers have declined for several days in a row. As per the data reported on Sunday, October 25, 2020, the state had a total of 5,648 patients who had recovered from the COVID-19 infection taking the tally to 14,60,755 patients, with the recovery rate currently at 88.08 per cent. 

Moreover, the state recorded a total of 6,059 new patients in a single day. With 112 deaths reported, the COVID19 fatality rate in Maharashtra stands at 2.63 per cent. Officials have tested a  total 86,08,928 samples so far, out of which 16,45,020 tested positive. 

The coronavirus pandemic has had a massive impact on several lives, and effects on many people in society. Besides just the health effects, the outbreak has resulted in a global issue with the economic downturn affecting people from all walks of life, all across the world. Reports state that many people have faced unemployment, and the number has risen sharply in the United States, whereby the impact is more on senior employees and the ones at the mid-career levels.

A survey conducted by The New School University in the United States showed that for the first time in 50 years, in US history, senior workers face unemployment than middle-aged citizens. The study was released by the officials on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
