The recruitment process for these positions will begin soon. and the order to fill these posts in the technical category was given by the Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut, on Friday, October 23, 2020.

As per the order, 6750 out of the 8500 posts will be for the technical category and 1762 posts will be for the engineers. The management team at the Mahatransco will be preparing for the mega recruitment of these posts.

The proposal to conduct the same was given by Dinesh Waghmare, Managing Director, Mahatransco, and the Energy Minister looked into the matter. This was further discussed in a meeting held at the Ministry on Friday, whereby Dr Raut ordered the recruitment to be completed as soon as possible. Officials will also look at offering jobs to graduates and engineering students.

In 2005, the Maharashtra State Electricity Board was divided into several companies, and since then, the number of vacancies in the Mahatrans Company has been increasing. However, these posts were not filled over the last many years, and this led to a lot of stress on the current working staff, due to increased workload. However, with this decision being passed, officials will consider offering job opportunities to thousands of youth in the state, and this will come as a relief for many especially during the Coronavirus pandemic.
