This year too, restrictions have been placed on immersion processions on 13 dangerous bridges on the railways. Precautions will be taken during the immersion on four dangerous bridges on the Central Railway and nine on the Western Railway, including the important Chinchpokli Bridge in Lalbaug.

It is prohibited to have more than 100 workers while carrying Ganesha idols across bridges. Some other instructions have also been given to the workers of the boards.

Mumbai has many old and dangerous bridges, 13 of which come in the way of immersion processions. The police have taken precautions as there is a fear of accidents if there is a crowd on these bridges. Mandals have been given instructions regarding the precautions to be taken during the immersion procession.
