Class XII exams have started recently and most of the students go to distant schools and colleges for exams. In such a case, the Suburban Railway Passenger Federation has appealed to the Central Railway Administration to run the suburban local trains on the Central Railway as per the regular timetable. As local tours are not regular, students, parents and teachers have to face a lot of trouble. Therefore, the railway administration has been urged to take precautions so that the schedule does not collapse even during this period.

In the past few months, the schedule of suburban railway trains has been continuously collapsing. So the passengers have to face the late mark. Many school and college students go to distant schools and colleges to study. They too suffer from this collapsed schedule. Late arrival of local trains leads to delay in reaching schools and colleges. Due to this, students often suffer academically. Now the higher secondary i.e. 12th exams have started from Tuesday.

Other exams have also started and therefore students need to reach on time. Therefore, students and parents insist that the local service should be in regular time during these exams. Based on this demand, the office bearers of the Railway Passenger Federation have appealed to the Divisional Operations Manager of Central Railway to maintain regular local services at least during the examination period.

From Kalyan onwards, even though the local services in Mumbai are disrupted, at least it is possible to reach the exam venue by road. But if the traffic of Kalyan – Karjat and Kalyan – Kasara railway lines is not smooth, no other private or public rapid transport system is available. It can cause academic damage to the students. Therefore, Union President Manohar Shelar has informed that the union has requested the railway administration to run the local trains on Karjat and Kasara route on time under any circumstances during the examinations. Locals on Karjat and Kasara route always run late as mail express, goods trains are pulled ahead before local.
