Palghar residents have no road connectivity from Palghar station to Kelwa - Saphale station. Therefore, Palghar-Kelwa-Saphale residents have to cover long distances.
However, due to infrastructural works such as track laying, etc. in UP and DOWN line in the Level Crossing area has been planned at Level Crossing No. 42 near Saphale station. Owing to this, LC No. 42 in the Saphale station yard will remain closed for road users.
According to an official statement released by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway (WR), LC No. 42 in Saphale station yard will remain closed till 23.00 hrs of February 10, 2024 for road users.
Pedestrians may use the railway FOB connecting East to West and vehicular traffic may use the nearby Kapase Road Over Bridge (ROB) near Saphale as an alternate route for LC No. 42. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted by WR, he added.
Workers of more than 50 villages and their citizens coming to the market will face problems. The citizens of Palghar have demanded from MP Sanjay Raut to build a direct road to commute on this route without inconvenience.
