Wadala- Barkat Ali Nagar to Ganesh Nagar of Wadala east has become an accident-prone area. To lessen the road accidents, residents wrote many letters to the traffic department but no provisions were made by the latter. Enraged residents now have begun signature campaign along with the Shivmudra Yuva Pratishthan NGO. Until now, 612 signatures have been gathered through this campaign. This signature filled letter will then be handed over to the local bodies, corporator, traffic department and local police station. Shiv Mudra Yuva Pratishthan's president Prashant More said that if no action is taken, then they will protest against the concerned authorities.
One week back, Shreyas Mhatre lost his life on this very road due to the lack of provisions from the traffic department.
