Mumbai Traffic Police, in a recently released announcement, have informed that the Sion flyover will be closed for a period of three months,  from March 27, 2021 to June 26, 2021, only over the weekends. This has been implemented as the authorities are conducting the repair work on the busy flyover.

However, the same will be operational on weekdays, informed the officials. The work is being performed by MSRDC and will require the flyover to be non-operational.

Alternative routes have been suggested by the police officials, whereby citizens travelling to South Mumbai can travel via Wadala taking the Anik Road and connecting to the Eastern Express Highway; and the ones wanting to travel to Dadar and other areas nearby can take the route from Wadala and Anik Road and connect the Wadala Char Rasta and Dadar Five Gardens.

Police will deploy necessary personnel to ensure commuters do not face issues with traffic and congestion.
