According to the latest reports, on Saturday, May 7, the traffic police stated that the Sion flyover will remain closed for vehicular traffic every weekend till June 20 so the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) can undertake repair work.

Based on accounts, the Mumbai traffic police have curated alternative routes for vehicular movement during this duration from 5 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday.

It has been reported that during this period, vehicular traffic will be diverted to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road. Moreover, many locations in the vicinity will have no parking zones at this time. Moreover, the traffic police have made no halting instructions for the smooth movement of traffic during the period. 

Diversions will reportedly be on the north-bound Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road. Vehicles from Mumbai Dock or south Mumbai will have to take a right turn from the Arora Junction towards the Four-Lane road following which they have to take a right turn towards Wadala bridge, Barkat Ali Naka, Chhatrapati Shivaji Chowk, Sewree-Chembur Link Road (Barkat Ali Dargah Road), Bhakti Park-Wadala-Anik Depot road and use the Ahuja bridge to get to their destination. 

On the other hand, vehicles coming from south Mumbai to the Arora Junction will have to take a right turn. Similarly, vehicles coming from Mazgaon, Rey Road, Kalachowky, and Four-Lane Road will have to take a left turn under the Wadala bridge then go towards the Barkat Ali Naka, Shanti Nagar, Bhakti Park, Anik Depot, Ahuja Bridge towards Thane and Navi Mumbai

Moreover, vehicles from Bombay Port Trust or south Mumbai through BPT Road will have to go through the Sewree Link Road Wadala, Anik Depot, Ahuja Bridge and go to Thane and Navi Mumbai. 

Likewise, those vehicles coming from the Sion Hospital junction will have to take a left turn at the hospital junction and take the Sulochana Shetty Marg for Mahim. 

Lastly, vehicles coming from Mahim, Kumbharwada towards Sion Hospital junction will have to take a right turn towards MG Road and take a left turn to Four Lane Road and take a right at Wadala Bridge for Barkat Ali, Shanti Nagar, Bhakti Park, Anik Depot, Ahuja bridge and go to their destination.
