A number of snakes have been found across residential areas in Mumbai, over the last few weeks. As per reports published a few days ago, a snake was found at Dadar's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan (Shivaji Park), and increased the panic among the visitors and residents. The snake was spotted near Shivaji Park Gymkhana.

Reports state that the popular Shivaji Park ground is visited by a large number of people every day, for recreational purposes. While some attend the park to walk or jog, it is usually crowded with enthusiastic players who love cricket and football. Besides this, the ground is also used by children who come to the park practice their game.

Keeping this in mind, the visitors complained about the same, stating that incidents like these pose danger to the people in the park. Updates released by the association states that the officials spotted the snake and have caught it successfully.

Besides this, a non-venomous snake was spotted by a snake enthusiast a few days ago, at the Mahim area. Upon identifying the threat, officials were informed who rushed to the spot and caught the same. Later, it was found that the snake was a cobra and had entered the bushes.

Observing such incidents, and with an aim to offer safety to the residents, MNS leader Nitin Sardesai has also lodged a complaint with the Brihanmumbai Municipal administration (BMC). Action is yet to be taken regarding the matters.
