The injured passengers have been admitted to Bhabha Hospital for treatment. Information is coming out that the condition of two of the injured is critical. It is said that the incident took place at around six in the morning.

It is believed that stampede occurred when passengers were trying to board 22921 Bandra-Gorakhpur Antyoday express. All the compartments of this express train is unreserved.

"The schedule departure of this train is 5:15 am. However during holidays, we try to station the train 2-3 hours prior it's departure time, so that passengers can board easily.

Hence, the train was brought to Bandra station around 2:44 from the yard. However, passengers tried boarding the train before it arrived at the station which led to few injuries. The injured were admitted to Bhabha Hospital. I request people not to board the running train and should wait until it arrives at the station", said Vinit Abhishek, PRO, Western Railway.
