Coronavirus has been spreading at an exponential rate in India. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit states in the country. In the past few days, the number of COVID-19 positive people are increasing in the MMR region. Panvel seems to be no different in this regards.

In the recent times it has been noted that the number of coronavirus positive people from Panvel crossed the 100-mark. Following this, the corporation in the area has decided to implement a strict lockdown in the area starting Juy 3. This lockdown will remain in effect for 10 days.

According to the directives issued, the strict lockdown will be put in place in Panvel on July 3 from 9 PM and will remain in effect till 12:00 PM on July 13. Since the movement of the people will be restricted during these times, the residents have been asked to stock up all essentials that they may require for a 10-day timeframe.

However, people living in these places have been instructed to follow all social distancing norms while going out to buy essentials.

Panvel is not the only satellite town in the MMR region to announce a complete lockdown. Other places such as Kalyan Dombivli, Thane and Navi Mumbai too have announced a complete lockdown for a certain number of days.
