Mumbai temperature drops below 20 degrees

As per reports, the minimum temperature at Santa Cruz was recorded at 18.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, December 6. Also, the Colaba centre saw a one-degree increase compared to Saturday.

As the wintry chills spread in the month of December, for the fourth day in a row, Mumbai suburbs recorded a minimum temperature below 20 degrees Celsius. However, even though the humidity has decreased, the maximum temperature in the city has not witnessed a decline.

After last week's rise, the minimum temperature in the suburbs had dropped below 20 degrees Celsius since Thursday, December 3. As per reports, the minimum temperature at Santa Cruz was recorded at 18.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday, December 6. Also, the Colaba centre saw a one-degree increase compared to Saturday. According to sources, the temperatures across Mumbai are expected to remain low for the next two days.

The minimum temperature in the city and suburbs started falling 3 days ago in the middle of this week after last week's rise. The minimum temperature in the suburbs dropped by 3 degrees on Thursday and by another 1.5 degrees on Friday, dropping below 20 degrees Celsius for the first time this season.

On the other hand, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.3 degrees Celsius at Santa Cruz. Even moisture levels showed a marginal decline from previous days as the suburbs and south Mumbai recorded 78 per cent and 85 per cent humidity on Saturday morning.

Moreover, in other parts of the state, especially interior Maharashtra along Marathwada and Vidarbha, temperatures were much lower. Parbhani recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 8.8 degrees Celsius followed by Gondia at 10.5 degrees Celsius. Nashik in north Maharashtra recorded 11.1 degrees Celsius while Pune recorded 11.5 degrees Celsius.
