Cases of suicide by jumping into the creek are constantly on rise. On Tuesday evening a young man tried to end his life by taking a car to a creek in Thane's Kolshet area. A resident who was strolling there saw this incident and jumped into the water to save the young man's life. The Thane Disaster Management Department pulled out the submerged car with the help of a crane.

The youth who tried to commit suicide has been identified as Yash Biswas (25) who lives in Highland Haven Tower in Balkum. Ganesh Visarjan Ghat is located in the Kolshet bayside area. Yash came here on Tuesday evening with a car. He took the car from Ganesh Visarjan Ghat to the bay to commit suicide.

Mandeep Shilpkar, who lives in the Kolshet area, was walking there. Seeing this, he jumped into the creek and swam to get Yash out of the creek safely. As soon as the information about this incident was received, a team of Kapurbawdi police, disaster management department staff and fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot. Yash was not injured in the incident. Also, the car submerged in the water of the creek has been pulled out with the help of a crane and has been handed over to the Kapurbawdi police. The car and person were evacuated and no one was injured at the scene.
