The Thane Police Central Control Room received 22,507 emergency calls from across the city between June 1 and July 10. Every call was recorded and acted upon through a round-the-clock response system. The emergency network continued to function despite heavy traffic and monsoon conditions.

The calls covered many types of emergencies. These included reports of suspicious activities, assistance for senior citizens, crimes against women, housebreakings, physical assaults, thefts, missing persons, property disputes and natural disasters.

Official data from the commissionerate showed that 17,598 emergency calls were received between June 1 and June 30. Another 4,909 calls were recorded during the first 10 days of July.
