The Thane Traffic Police has implemented major changes in the traffic in Tembhi Naka area here for Navratri celebrations. As devotees from Thane and surrounding districts visit this place for darshan, there is a possibility of traffic jams and to avoid this there will be changes in traffic timings. These traffic changes will be in effect from October 15 to October 24 from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am every day.
Navratri festival is organised by Jai Ambe Maa Public Board at Tembhi Naka. Late Thane District Chief of Shiv Sena Anand Dighe started this festival and after his death Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has continued the tradition of this festival. Leaders and office bearers of various political parties come here for darshan of Devi. Devotees also come from Thane, Mumbai suburbs and Raigad district to have darshan of the goddess. This leads to a large crowd of citizens in Tembhi Naka during the festival.
Besides, a fair is also held here. During this period, the roads here become congested due to the increase in the load of vehicles. Traffic changes have been implemented here for the last few years to reduce this dilemma. This year too, the traffic changes have been implemented in a similar manner and the notification was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Thane Traffic Branch Vinaykumar Rathod.

According to this change, all vehicles going from Thane Railway Station towards District Government Hospital will be barred at Tower Naka. Vehicles here will ply through Gadkari Rangayatan Chowk, Dagdi School, Alameda Chowk. All vehicles going from Gadkari Chowk to Tower Naka will be banned from Gadkari Chowk area. Vehicles here will ply through the stone school. Vehicles plying from Charai to Bhavani Chowk, Tembhi Naka via Edalji will be restricted at Dhobi Ali. The vehicles plying from Courtnaka Chowk via Anandashram via Tower Naka. Entry will be restricted at Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial. Vehicles here will ply through Jambli Naka, Tower Naka.

Vehicles plying from Dagdi School Chowk via Veer Savarkar to Tembhinaka will be restricted from entering Dandekar Jewellers. Vehicles here will ply via Uttam Moreshwar Angre, Ahilya Devi Bagh, Dhobi Ali Chowk, Dhobi Ali Masjid. Vehicles plying through Dandekar Jewelers from Dhobi Ali Chowk will be restricted from entry at Dhobi Ali Chowk.
