Thane Traffic Update: Police Announces Road Closures, Alternate Routes For Metro 4 Work

During this time, the main road will have to be closed for the movement of heavy vehicles at certain places on the Thane Ghodbunder channel. It is necessary for the comfort of the general public that there should be no traffic jam in the said area and that the traffic in the area should remain smooth and assured. An alternative route will be provided to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Accordingly, Pankaj Shirsat, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, Thane City, have received the Maharashtra Government Home Department No. M. V. A.-116/CR/37/TR, dated In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 115, 116 (1) (a) (c) of the Motor Vehicles Act, the following notification is hereby issued:

Entry Closed:

1) During the work of the Thane Ghodbunder channel, Gaimukh Station. & U Grider, all heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder are being closed near Pillar No. 85.

2) During the girder work on Ghodbunder Thane channel, all types of vehicles going towards Thane are being 'Entry Closed' near Nagla Bandar and Asha Wine Shop.

Alternate Route

a) During the work of the Thane Ghodbunder channel, Gaimukh Station. & U Grider, all heavy vehicles will proceed in the opposite direction from Pillar No. 85 along the Ghodbunder Thane main road and then take a left turn from Pillar No. 102 and proceed to the desired destination via the main road in front of Indian Oil Pump.

b) During the work of the 1 & U Grider of the Thane Ghodbunder station, all light vehicles will proceed towards the desired destination from Pillar No. 85 will go through the service road and then proceed to the desired destination on the main road in front of Indian Oil Pump.

c) During the work of 1 & U Grider on Ghodbunder Thane channel, all types of vehicles will go through Nagla Bandar DP 75, 76 and Asha Wine Shop via the service road and will proceed to the desired destination on the main road at Lodha Splendra Ghodbunder Thane channel.
