
The budget session of the State Legislature will run for 20 days. The budget for the financial year 2026–27 will be presented in both houses of the legislature on 6 March, and the session will conclude on 25 March 2026.
The budget session will begin in Mumbai on February 23. Against this backdrop, a meeting of the Parliamentary Affairs Advisory Committee was held at the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the schedule for the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council was finalised. Since holidays like Holi and Gudi Padwa fall during the session, the work of both houses will continue during the first week of the session, starting 28 February.
The session will observe a Holi break from 1 to 3 March. Following that, the houses will remain suspended for four consecutive days on 19 March (Gudi Padwa), 20 March (Friday), 21 March (Saturday), and 22 March (Sunday).
After these breaks, the session will formally conclude on March 25.
The Parliamentary Affairs Advisory Committee meeting was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde, Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, among others.
