Under this scheme, one thousand 275 railway stations across the country will be redeveloped

15 stations of Central Railway will be redeveloped in the Mumbai division under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Sandhurst Road, Chinchpokli, Byculla, Parel, Matunga, Wadala Road, Kurla, Vidyavihar, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, Mumbra, Diva, Igatpuri, Shahad and Titwala stations in Mumbai division of Central Railway will be redeveloped. 


Redevelopment work of Parel, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg and Byculla railway stations has started. The Central Railway has planned to complete this work as soon as possible. INR 1941 crore will be spent for Parel, INR 19.16 crore for Vikhroli, INR 27.01 crore for Kanjurmarg and INR 35.52 crore will be spent for Byculla. Under this scheme, 1275 railway stations across the country will be redeveloped.

About 40 thousand passengers alight and board local trains at Parel station on a daily basis. For this, Railways has started the work of redevelopment of Parel station in the first phase itself. Lifts, escalators, new toilets on platforms with sewage treatment plant facilities, improvement in circulation area and traffic planning, improvement in station façade and lighting are being done at the stations.


Along with this, new modern direction boards, updated public address system, renovation of the booking office and other offices and facilities for disabled passengers will be provided.
