One of the TMC officials said that they are planning to transform Masunda lake into a tourist destination by planning to make a floating pathway along the lake. He added that the pathway will start from Mahatma Gandhi garden and will end at Jambli Naka market. He further added that the project will not harm the lake’s biodiversity nor will any of the trees be cut.

In order to install pillars for the bridge, the footpath along the lake will be dug up which will be 1.5m wide and 400m long. The pathway will also be lit up with aesthetic LED lights which will cost ₹6.99 crore.
