Eviction proceedings have been initiated against Benefit Business House in Lower Parel for illegally constructing additional structures in violation of the Floor Area Index (FSI) regulations set by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The G South Division of the Municipal Corporation carried out this operation, during which one unauthorised construction at Unit No. 1C was demolished between September 16 and 19. Demolition is still underway at Units No. 3A, 4A, 3C, and 4C.
This action is part of a wider campaign against unauthorised constructions in Mumbai, as directed by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani, and under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Joshi. Specifically, strict measures have been taken in Lower Parel under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Zone 2 Prashant Sapkale and Assistant Commissioner of South Zone Swapnaja Kshirsagar.
At Benefit Business House on N. M. Joshi Marg, additional unauthorised construction was carried out at three locations:
210.8 sq. meters on the eastern floor of Unit No. 1C,
260 sq. meters across Units No. 3A and 4A,
166 sq. meters across Units No. 3C and 4C.
The BMC has confirmed that the crackdown on unauthorised constructions and encroachments will continue across the city.
